It encompasses anaesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. The Department of Anaesthesiology at Sacred Heart Hospital uses the most advanced safe and patient-focused techniques in the delivery of anaesthetic care. Our team of extremely skilled and well-experienced anaesthesiologists aims to provide optimum quality patient care not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it by optimizing pre-operative patient status and providing comprehensive patient care during the early post-operative period. The Department of Anaesthesiology at Sacred Heart Hospital has five Operating rooms and one Endoscopy Unit. We have a modular OT fitted with centralised anaesthesia gas delivery system, laminar flow and equipped with modern anaesthesia machines. The department caters to a large number of cases per month under anaesthesia that includes Neuro-surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery and Spine Surgery as well.

Critical Care

Critical care is medical care for people who have life-threatening injuries and illnesses. It usually takes place in an intensive care unit (ICU).

A team of specially-trained health care providers gives you 24-hour care. This includes using machines to constantly monitor your vital signs. It also usually involves giving you specialized treatments.

At Sacred Heart Hospital, critical care medicine is a super speciality department catering to seriously ill patients suffering from life threatening diseases, organ failures, those requiring life support systems and/ or intensive monitoring.
